The Youth Group fields one of the most successful teams in the highly competitive MHUCC Souper Bowl. The soup making contest is an annual event in support Uptown Community Services. This year our  entry was impossible chili with corn bread (and lots of optional toppings). The youth prepared a huge vat of the chili and mountains of the bread on Saturday afternoon. The tasters, our church congregation, enthusiastically consumed. They voted with their wallets (the team collecting the highest amount of money wins). There were 8 teams this year. We were narrowly beaten by the chancel choir with their excellent french onion soup, but we were pleased to receive the silver ladle in such a competitive contest.
