How to Give

Each year, pledged offerings account for over 80% of the operating budget. We do not receive monetary support from the national or conference level, but instead, it is the local congregations that donate a portion of their revenue to the conference and national offices as part of Our Church’s Wider Mission: Changing Lives. This church is congregationally based in both polity and in budget resources. We cannot fulfill our mission without your support.

It’s easy to give at MHUCC! Ways you can support your church include:

  • Place your check or cash in the offering plate on Sunday.
  • Mail your check to the church office at 4070 Jackdaw Street, San Diego, CA 92103.
  • Use your computer to give online.
  • Use your smartphone to give via mobile app or text.
  • Donate via our PayPal account. 
  • Make a gift of stock. Please contact the church office for transfer instructions.

Give Online

Save time and resources with online giving. You can make one-time gifts or recurring payments. You can specify where you want to your payment to go: Pledge or Offering, Designated Funds (such as Organ & Music), Memorial Funds, Special Offerings (5 for 5), and short-term fundraisers such as the Souper Bowl and Youth Service Projects.

Click the Give Online Now button below, which will take you to our secure payment page.

1.  To make payments frequently, a profile is required:
On your first visit to your payment page, create a password-protected profile by entering your name, address, payment method, and other required information, before setting up a recurring transaction. Then, on future visits, simply log-in to view or change information, without the need to re-enter personal profile data.

If you will only donate one time, no profile is required: 
Simply enter your name, address, payment method, payment amount, and other information into the required fields, and then submit the payment.

2.  Receive your Confirmation: 
You will see a printer-friendly confirmation page and you may also request an automatic email confirmation.

3.  Payment Processing:
Transactions are processed according to normal timelines and funds are electronically transferred to MHUCC’s account within 2-3 business days.

Give via Smartphone

Mobile App (iPhone or Android)

1.  Download the App.
Search for “GivePlus Church” in the App Store or Google Play Store. Download the app with the white “Give+” icon.

2.  Make a Payment.
Open the Give+ app and follow instructions to make a one-time or recurring payment. Account registration process is the same as for our online giving link via your computer. (See prior page “How to Give Online).

3.  Receive an email confirmation. 
Remember to log off when you are done.


Text (iPhone or Android) – for debit/credit card only

For your first donation via text:

  1. Enter our text-only phone number 844-871-4575 and the amount you wish to give.
  2. The reply will provide a link to our secure web page at Vanco so you can provide your registration info. (This is separate from the online registration described above.)
  3. When registration is complete, tap “Process.”
  4. You will receive a text reply and an email receipt to verify your transaction.

For future donations, simply

  1. Bring up the “Vanco Give+” text message and enter “#funds.” The reply will list the keyword used to identify each of your giving choices.
  2. Enter the amount followed by “fundname” to identify how you wish your donation to be applied, and send.
  3. You will receive a text reply and an email receipt to verify your transaction.

Planned Giving and Bequests

Planned Giving can be confusing and quite a headache. Stay organized with an Estate Planning Record (PDF), courtesy of the United Church of Christ.

Planned giving with the UCC Financial Development Team gives you professional financial resources by the UCC, and you are able to name your local church, Mission Hills United Church of Christ, as the beneficiary. It’s easy and painless!

You can designate Mission Hills United Church of Christ as the beneficiary of your insurance policy, retirement plan, will, or trust. Contact your insurance agent, financial advisor, or estate planning attorney for more information.  The following form can be used to declare your intentions: Declaration of Bequest Intention (PDF).
