Youth from MHUCC and our San Diego UCC Partnership Church in La Mesa joined groups from Berkeley and Thousand Oaks for a week of fun, fellowship, and service with Sierra Service Project. We painted a fire station and the church where we were staying, demoed a flood-damaged building, removed invasive plants on Silver Strand State Beach, and helped to create a friendship garden. We thought about the SSP summer theme: Building Bridges, and about the ways that we can realize our faith through service to others.
