Capital Campaign
For more than a century, Mission Hills United Church of Christ has stood at the heart of this neighborhood – a church not built to stand apart from the community, but to belong within it.
We have launched a $1 million capital campaign to preserve this campus and prepare it for the generations who will follow. We care for it now so that what happens here can continue to bring life to the community around it.
What this campaign will make possible
Caring for our campus
We will address essential infrastructure and maintenance across our historic property. This is faithful stewardship of a campus used seven days a week by our congregation and community.
Preparing for the future
We will set aside funds to respond when major systems reach the end of their lifespan, allowing us to move forward with stability rather than urgency.
Restoring the Little House
The small house on our property will be restored as housing and the potential to serve as a future parsonage.
Accessibility and flexibility in worship
We will improve access to the sanctuary chancel so that it is fully accessible and adaptable for worship and community use.
Extending our ministry beyond our walls
- This campaign includes significant gifts to community partners, including:
- Interfaith Shelter Network, supporting a new program for children experiencing homelessness
- Jewish Family Service Safe Parking Program
- A United Church of Christ ministry
Our future is tied to the well-being of the wider community we serve.
