Youth Group, Families and Friends Mexican Home Build, 2024

On Saturday at 7:30am, 10 youth and 12 adults gathered at the Mission Hills UCC Church and set out for Tijuana, Mexico. We were going to build a new home for the Zamora family: mom, dad and 4 children, working with Casas de Luz.

Watch how piles of lumber, roof tiles and cans of paint were transformed over the next two days to create a new home – with hard work, sweat, teamwork, joy, and love (video).

It was such a meaningful experience. Thank you to everyone that participated in the build, and to everyone at MHUCC who helped us with fundraising for the materials and for our transportation, and supported us with your prayer.
